Youth Development
Young People at the Heart of Sport
For young people, sport can be a place to grow in confidence, make friends and learn how to work with others. We take that responsibility seriously.
Youth Participation
Our priority is that young people enjoy taking part. Enjoyment keeps them active, and staying active builds habits that last a lifetime.
The Educational Value of Sport
Sport teaches lessons that classrooms sometimes can't: handling pressure, accepting decisions, keeping promises to a team and bouncing back from disappointment.
Confidence Building
Mastering a new skill, being trusted with a role, or simply being encouraged by a coach can make a real difference to how a young person sees themselves.
Social Development, Teamwork & Communication
Playing together means talking, listening and solving problems as a group. These social skills are just as important as technical ones.
Positive Role Models
Coaches, older players and volunteers set the tone. We expect adults involved with the association to model the respect and fair play we ask of young athletes.
Respect, Responsibility & Safe Environments
Young participants should always feel safe, respected and listened to. Parents and guardians are welcome to ask us how activities are organized and supervised.
For more on how we approach respectful conduct, see our Participant Welfare page.
